The Banchory Woodland Trails Project was the original inspiration for the formation of the Deeside Bike Collective and remains our primary objective.
We plan to build a parking area and four new trails at a site located near the Glen O’Dee Hospital in Banchory, catering for a wide range of users, as well as ensuring local paths are upgraded and maintained for walkers.
More about the trails
Location of the trails
The site, located near the Glen O’Dee Hospital, is close to the town centre and accessible by foot, cycle and car. The forest will be owned and managed by the DBC.
A blue mellow trail, a more technical red/orange trail and an expert track with jumps and drops will be complimented by a tarmac pump track skills area.
Plans and Business Case
Detailed preparation went into our planning application and the asset transfer has been agreed, pending the release of adequate funds.
